Children's School of Arts and Culture
Our School of the Arts includes a growing set of arts and culture classes
Our goal is to continue the Georgian tradition of bringing children into the personal experience of Georgian arts. We have a growing program of classes. Our performance arts programs of Georgian dance, music, theater and ballet work closely with our professional performance groups and are taught by professional artists.
Our short films and Rainbow TV classes give hands-on immersion into the worlds of film making and TV documentary.
Our plastic arts classes in painting and sculpture offer disciplined and creative training in these disciplines
We also provide a good grounding in Georgian life with classes in Georgian language and culture
Our largest program is dance, but we encourage our students to participate in as many programs as they like. This includes regular weekly classes and rehearsals together with frequent opportunities to perform. Experience, study and creative performance are inherent in the class and ensemble activities. Although our classes are taught according to the traditional techniques which require a direct contact between the master and the student, our programs improve many abilities besides the arts themselves, and which among other beneficial results will correspond to New York State adn New York City Learning Standards.
