The First Annual Children’s Festival of Georgian Dance
The Dancing Crane Georgian Cultural Center in Brooklyn is the first Georgian cultural center in the greater New York area. As part of our mission “to provide opportunities for the growing Georgian immigrant community to establish healthy roots in New York and America through the study and practice of Georgian performance arts”, we invited 7 regional organizations (New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey) to come together to present their Georgian children’s dance groups in a performance “Khorumi is a Georgian Dance”.
The event took place on Saturday, April 22 at 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Danny Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College in Manhattan.
Our aim with this event was to strengthen the common bond of providing traditional Georgian education to immigrant children. This is a charity event with the proceeds used to help needy Georgian children.
